Description
Global campaign for the launch of the Slam Jam x Puma “Mostro” collaboration. Based on Puma’s iconic silhouette, known for its rebellious style and spiky design, Bianco Bianco explored the shoes’ roots as a symbol of global counterculture, bringing it to life through the lens of Japan’s “gyaru” subculture.
Shot in Tokyo by director and photographer Nathalie Scarlette, the campaign featured some of the most recognisable faces from the scene, including Erica and Momoa, cover stars from the bible of gyaru style, egg magazine. Over-saturated colour grading and a kira-kira visual language tied up the campaign, with an over-the-top aesthetic reminiscent of the vibrant Japanese after-hours TV shows of the late ’90s and early ’00s.
